1940s reenactment – the policeman

Over a weekend in July every year, Blaenavon’s Heritage Railway in South Wales hosts it’s 1940’s weekend.

Steam trains are operated by various locomotives originally built for the War Department  to help transport everyone back in time to the Second World War.

The following series of images show some of the photos taken at this years event.

This was the village bobby who explained that everything, right down to the handcuffs was original and dated back to 1910 and slightly later. The helmet was originally his great grandfathers and was passed down the generations.
